I am interested in the study of the suspension of soft particles in Stokes flow This work is motivated by its numerous applications in bio-fluid mechanics, food industry, emulsion and hemo rheology. Several examples of soft particles are red blood cells, synthetic capsules, veshicles and microgel pastes. RBCs, veshicle and synthetic capsules can be modelled as the particle with elastic shell and fluid in core. Microgel particles are soft solids. The thin shell of these particles exhibits complex response when suspended in fluid. For example, it tumbles like a rigid disk in low shear flow and tank tread with the increase in viscosity and shear rate The mechanism involved shape dynamics of deformable particle in fluid is quite complex. The complex dynamics of soft particle depend on particle shape, elasticity, fluid viscosity, and concentration. We are interested in the experimental investigation of effect of deformation on the shape and kinematics of elastic capsule in simple shear flow. Though extensive efforts are given to understand the cell generated response in blood like plasma skimming, margination, cell depletion layer, viscosity reduction by drag reducing polymer, still the complete understanding is lacking. We are interested in the fundamental understanding of their dynamic response using microfluidics.

As a person, I believe in the growth of individual by the awareness of her inner instincts. Out of those instincts, I value more to steady effort, honesty, truth, affection and respect for others. I prefer to run behind a dream no matter how far it is from me. My hobbies include reading autobiographies of famous people, inspirational novels, love stories, watching paintings, old movies, listening music and spending time with small kids. Here, what is common in all is that anything that has depth touches me and I get involved in it.
