In collaboration with the Aerospace Engineering department, I have been involved in several experimental campaigns. One such project investigates shock waves and instabilities in granular flows, funded by the Department of Science and Engineering Board, India. Another significant study involves the experimental investigation of the steady and unsteady characteristics of three-dimensional swept shock wave and turbulent boundary layer interaction using micro-vortex generators, in collaboration with the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bangalore, India, for supersonic inlets applications. Additionally, I am collaborating with Dr. Rakesh Kumar on a project on the development of plug nozzles for launch vehicles, funded by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), India. We also explore the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic properties of multiple jets, focusing on the mixing characteristics and noise reduction of supersonic jets from converging-diverging nozzles using vortex generators. Furthermore, working with Dr. Rakesh Kumar and Dr. Arun Kumar Perumal, we are investigating supersonic jet control, manipulating aerodynamic and aeroacoustic characteristics using fluidic injection from mini injectors.
