Avijeet Kulshrestha received the K Ananth Swamy Memorial Research Award in 2023 due to his exceptional research contributions in the field of Chemical Engineering. Avijeet’s research work on studying protein-membrane interactions and protein conformational change, where he used advanced molecular dynamics simulation techniques to decipher the action of toxin proteins from bacteria. His research, recognized for its significant impact and scientific merit, made him a distinguished candidate for this prestigious award.
The K Ananth Swamy Memorial Research Award, established in 2022 by alumnus Ravi Ananth, honors K Ananth Swamy and promotes research excellence in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IISc. Awarded annually to a distinguished PhD student, it includes a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 and a citation, presented on September 21, K Ananth Swamy’s birthday.
