Interfacial fluid dynamics is key to a wide range of industrial and natural processes, including the dispersion of agents in plants and the transmission of airborne diseases. The fragmentation of expiratory fluids results in droplets and aerosols that can carry infectious agents and allow for their spread through the air. Understanding the mechanisms of fluid fragmentation is vital for developing effective strategies to control the spread of airborne diseases.
